What a 1 tells you

The center 1 counts all eight neighbors. Suppose the flag at top left is correctly placed.

This is a separate example. Trying it does not change your game or saved progress.

Does a flag prove there is a mine?

No. Flags are your notes. This example assumes the flag is correct; a mistaken flag can lead to a mistaken deduction.

Is every game solvable without guessing?

No. The first revealed square and its immediate neighbors are safe, but later positions may require a guess.

How do I flag on a phone?

Turn Flag mode on, then tap a square. Turn it off before revealing. On a keyboard, move focus with the arrow keys and press F to flag.
